Five flooring jobs below. Pick the one that sounds like yours. Each page tells you the same three things, including the one most companies leave out. On a Florida slab, that one is moisture.
Priced by written scope, never by the hour.
If two of them sound like yours, that is normal. Say so on the walkthrough and the written scope covers both under one price.
Most rooms are one of these five cases. Read the line that sounds like your house. The page it points to is the one to open first. If a floor job touches a toilet or a sink, that part goes to the licensed trade. Your scope names it. The floor, the prep and the trim are ours.
Luxury vinyl plank. It is waterproof on top and it goes over a flat slab. It is the floor most Tampa Bay houses ask for. The slab has to be flat and dry first. That is the part we test before a box is opened.
Tile flooring. Porcelain on a flat, tested slab lasts for decades. It is the slowest floor to lay and the hardest to change later. So the layout is drawn on the floor before any mortar.
Laminate flooring. It looks like wood, it clicks together, and its core hates standing water. In a dry room with the right pad it is a good floor. In a bathroom or a laundry room, it is not.
Flooring removal and subfloor repair. Old tile, glued vinyl and carpet all leave something behind. What is under them decides what can go down, and it is priced only after we can see it.
Read the cost page. It gives you the 3 questions that put any floor in a range. It also shows what a low bid quietly leaves out of the prep. There is no price per square foot, because the square foot is the cheap half.
